Nikon
Coolpix 5400
4x optical Zoom-Nikkor lens and
5.1 effective megapixels with great portability

Nikon has today
announced a new digital camera the Coolpix 5400. The camera is
an update to the Coolpix 5000, and now features a 4x ED glass
optical zoom lens with 5.1 effective megapixel resolution. A number
of additional features have been added on this new model.

5 megapixel camera brings the creativity of SLR photography
to digital still cameras
TORONTO,
ON - May 28, 2003 - Nikon Canada Inc. today announced the latest
addition to its award-winning Coolpix digital camera line - the
5.1 megapixel Coolpix 5400. This stylish, compact camera is designed
to deliver superior images to advanced amateur photographers and
serious hobbyists, as well as being the perfect back-up camera
for professional systems and location shoots.
The
Coolpix 5400 features Nikon's newly-engineered 4x ED Zoom-Nikkor
lens, which offers a professional-quality 5.8-24mm focal range
(equivalent to 28-116mm in 35mm camera format, allowing photographers
ultra wide-angle shooting). The 4x Zoom-Nikkor lens offers Nikon's
legendary superior optical performance, incorporating an ED (Extra-Low
Dispersion) glass element that minimizes chromatic aberration
and two ASP (aspherical) lenses for reduced distortion.
Combined
with the Coolpix 5400's 5.1 effective megapixels, this camera
virtually ensures remarkably clear, images with superb detail
and realistic colour fidelity. The Coolpix 5400 digital system
was designed to offer photographers the creative control of SLR
(single lens reflex) photography in a convenient digital still
camera.
This camera accepts a wide variety of accessories, including wide-angle,

Nikon

Nikon's bright Vari-angle back-lit LCD monitor allows shooters

Coolpix 5400 incorporates four exposure modes; Programmed Auto,
Shutter-Priority Auto, Aperture-Priority Auto and Manual, allowing
