Sept 12th, 2006 - Nikon Canada Inc. has just recently lowered the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) on a number of their digital SLR cameras including the popular Nikon D200 and the Nikon D50 kit with the Nikon AF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G zoom lens.

The price has also been reduced on the Nikon D70s digital SLR body only and the Nikon D70s digital SLR kit with the Nikon AF-S DX 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED zoom lens.

Canon Canada Inc. has also dropped prices this month with a reduced MSRP on their 8MP Canon Digital Rebel XT and the higher end Canon EOS 30D digital SLR.

The new MSRP for the Nikon D200 digital SLR is now $1999 CDN, reflecting a $70 manufacturer's price reduction on the Nikon D200.

The Nikon D50 kit with the DX AF-S 18-55mm lens is now $799. The MSRP on the Nikon D50 camera body alone is now $639 CDN.

The new MSRP on the Nikon D70s digital SLR kit with the DX AF-S 18-70mm lens is $1179. The MSRP on the Nikon D70s camera body alone is now $799 CDN. This reflects a $90 manufacturer's price reduction on the Nikon D70s kit.

Canon Canada has reduced the MSRP on the Canon Digital Rebel XT digital SLR kit by $100 to a new MSRP of $899 CDN with the EF-S 18-55mm zoom lens.

The Canon EOS 30D digital SLR with the Canon EF-S 18-55mm zoom lens has come down by $100 as well to a new MSRP of $1699.
