The images below are provided to illustrate the difference in angle of view between the Canon EOS Digital Rebel kit lens (EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USM) and the Nikon D70 digital SLR kit lens (AF-S DX 18-70mm F3.5-4.5G.)

Both images were captured from the same position with the individual lenses set to maximum telephoto (55mm and 70mm respectively).
