Today we have published a series of sample images taken with
a final production version of the new Nikon
D80 digital SLR. We
tested the Nikon D80 with
the AF-S
DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF ED zoom
lens and the Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8D.
From
spending a couple of days with the Nikon D80 in our experience
it is a real joy to use. The new large viewfinder and bigger
2.5" LCD screen are a very welcome feature, and the camera's
controls and menus are well laid out and easily accessible.
In
most situations the Nikon D80 can be left in automatic / default
modes with confidence. Great for more novice users to start
with while they grow with the camera. For those that desire
more precise creative control the Nikon D80 offers a wealth
of custom options for setting exposure, image processing and
autofocus modes. The new Retouch Menu is also a handy addition
that allows for some convenient quick edits in camera.
The
Nikon D80 feels comfortable to handle and hold. The camera is
fast and responsive and in terms of image quality the Nikon
D80 delivered overall very consistent and good results in our
tests. See our Nikon D80 digital SLR image samples below. Some
images available in full size and others reduced in size to
allow for easier download.
