Olympus Introduces Three New 4/3 System Lenses: Zuiko ED 7-14mm, E 14-45mm and E 40-150mm Zoom

Designed for use by pros, the Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm f4.0 provides photographers with ultra-wide-angle shooting capabilities and delivers amazing results. With a focal length beginning at just 7mm (equivalent to 14mm on a 35mm camera) it offers a 114° angle of view – currently the world’s widest for digital zoom lenses. The minimum working distance (from object to front lens) is just 10cm, allowing exaggerated perspectives.

Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 7-14mm f4.0

The Olympus Zuiko Digital 14-45mm f3.5 - 5.6 Lens (equivalent to 28mm - 90mm in 35mm photography) now comes standard with Olympus' newest consumer digital camera, the EVOLT E-300, also announced today. Its 3.2x zoom covers the zoom range most frequently used in everyday photography, and with 12 elements in 10 groups and a weight of just 9.98 oz / 285g (approx.) it makes for a portable versatile zoom lens.

A newly developed 'floating' mechanism is incorporated into the focusing system to ensure exceptionally smooth action across the entire focusing range. Close-ups as near as 15 in/38cm are possible throughout the zoom range. The lens also incorporates a new multi-coating process, which minimizes ghosting and flaring as well as a reliable metal lens mount.
