Nikon: Coolpix P1 and P2 Wi-Fi Enabled Compact Digital Cameras

Sept 1st. Nikon has today introduced the Nikon Coolpix P1 and Coolpix P2 compact digital cameras, offering 8.0 and 5.1 megapixel resolution respectively. The Nikon Coolpix P1 and Coolpix P2 are two of the first consumer digital cameras on the market to provide the advantage of built-in Wi-Fi LAN support (IEEE802.11b/g), offering new picture-taking potential and image transfer convenience. Wireless transfer allows the photographer to send pictures from the memory card or the camera’s internal memory direct to a selected computer on command. June 21st. As of today, the Nikon D50 DSLR kit is now also in stock with B&H Photo (US). June 14th. Nikon USA Inc. has just released the Nikon D50 digital SLR kit with the AF-S DX 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED Nikkor zoom lens. A quick check of online retailers this morning showed the camera kit in stock and available for immediate purchase from RitzCamera. A call to Nikon Canada Inc. confirmed that the Nikon D50 kit should be released by next week and on dealers shelves before the end of the month. Nikon has today announced the availability of the latest version of Nikon Capture software (now Nikon Capture version 4.3), the RAW / NEF image editing program for Nikon digital SLR's, and select Nikon digital Coolpix cameras. May 16th. Nikon has today released the anticipated new Firmware Version 2.0 update for the Nikon D70 Digital SLR. Announced about a month ago, the firmware update is designed to extend a number of the features found in the recently announced Nikon D70s digital SLR to the original D70.
