Canon: Announces Rebates on the Canon Digital Rebel XT, Canon EOS 5D and Select Canon EF Lenses and Accessories

April 2nd. Updated: Canon Canada and Canon USA have today announced a $100 CDN/US mail-in rebate on the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT digital SLR, valid from April 1st - June 15th. Canon USA Inc. is also offering a $300 mail in rebate on the higher end Canon EOS 5D digital SLR, similar to the rebate that was already introduced in Canada last month. With the spring photographic season arriving, digital SLR camera manufacturer's have recently lowered prices or are now offering rebate incentives on select models to further entice customers. Canon Canada has lowered the manufacturer's recommended retail price (MSRP) on the Digital Rebel XT digital camera kit with the EF-S 18-55mm zoom lens, and has introduced an up to $300 cash back tied mail in rebate promotion on the Canon EOS 5D digital SLR.

Nikon: AF-S DX 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 VR Zoom Possible Compatibility Issues with the Nikon D70, D2H and D100

March 16th. Nikon Canada Inc. has today posted a notice on their customer support help site notifying customers of possible compatibility issues between the new Nikon AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens and some Nikon digital SLR's, including the Nikon D70, the Nikon D2H and the Nikon D100. The issue only relates to Nikon D70 models that have not been upgraded with the latest Nikon D70 Firmware Version 2.0. Canon: Debuts 22 New Products Before PMA Show

Feb 21st. Canon Canada, Inc., announced today it will showcase 22 new products at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) trade show, February 26th – March 1st in Orlando, Florida. Nikon: Provides FAQ Regarding D200 D-SLR Banding Issue

Feb 10th. The Nikon D200 digital SLR has certainly proven to be a very popular camera, with most dealers unable to adequately supply the strong demand and the camera often on back order. Konica Minolta: Closing Camera and Photo Operations Worldwide
