Nikon D40X Digital SLR Camera Image Samples March 19th. Today we have published a series of sample images taken with a final production version of the new 10 megapixel Nikon D40X digital SLR, the recently announced big brother to the 6.1MP Nikon D40. We tested the Nikon D40X with the AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G ED kit lens and the new Nikkor AF-S DX 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6G VR ED telephoto lens. We found the Nikon D40X digital SLR a real joy to use and very user friendly. Nikon D40 Digital SLR First Look review and Image Samples March 6th. Nikon has today officially announced the 10.2 megapixel Nikon D40x, a sister digital SLR camera model to the entry level 6.1MP Nikon D40 digital SLR. From an ergonomic and design point of view there is nothing to differentiate the Nikon D40X from the Nikon D40. In terms of features, the Nikon D40X does offer a slightly faster continious shooting rate of 3 fps versus 2.5 fps on the Nikon D40. Nikon: D200 Digital SLR Wins Camera Grand Prix 2006 Award

May 23rd. The Nikon D200 digital SLR has won another award, this time the Nikon D200 has been selected to receive the Camera Grand Prix Award for 2006. The Camera Grand Prix is the Japanese photo industry’s most prestigious award for a camera. It is determined by a panel of 49 (in 2006) respected photographers, scholars and technical writers in the field of photography. The Nikon D200 was recently awarded with a Gold Award from the Digital Imaging Websites Association (DIWA), and has already been named the "Best Digital SLR Expert" for 2006 by the European Technical Imaging Press Association (TIPA)... Pentax: Announces K100D and K110D Digital SLR Cameras

May 23rd. Pentax has today introduced the new 6.1 megapixel Pentax K100D and K110D digital SLR cameras. Both feature a large 2.5" rear LCD display, 11-point area Auto Focus, 1/4000 sec maximum shutter speed, support for SD memory cards, and the capability to capture up to 5 shots consecutively at approximately 2.8 frames per sec. May 1st. Nikon USA Inc. has today announced a number of instant discounts on their Nikon Coolpix digital cameras. The Nikon Coolpix L1, with 6.0 MP resolution and a 5x optical zoom, is now covered by an $80 US instant rebate. The program ends May 31st, 2006.
