It’s easy to get stuck in a rut and not know how to take your photography skills to the next level. Here are photography tips that will help you improve your images.
Use a tripod
Using a tripod is the most basic and important digital photography tip you should follow. The most common mistake made by new photographers is to shoot without using a tripod. It may be challenging to get the perfect shot in one go, but using a tripod will help you avoid blurriness in your photos and also ensure that your camera is stable while shooting.
Shoot in RAW format
RAW format is an uncompressed format that gives you more control over the post-processing of your photos. In other words, shooting in RAW format allows you to change lighting and color settings after taking a picture. This option is not available in JPEG files, which means that you have less flexibility in editing those images afterward.
Use the light, don’t fight it
If all else fails, use natural light. It’s never wrong, and it’s always available at no cost. You can add drama to your subjects by making them pose in ways that the natural light will create a different effect on their face.
When shooting indoors, position yourself so that the light source is behind or to one side of your subject. This will help prevent harsh shadows on faces and objects.
